How to make a printable calendar with your own events
Create a custom calendar with birthdays and events, choose a PDF layout, and print a readable planner with KalendarHub.
Start with the job your calendar needs to do
A wall calendar needs to be readable from a distance. A desk planner needs room for notes. A year overview helps you spot busy periods. Decide which of these matters most before adding every event you can think of.
In the calendar maker, choose your year and whether the week starts on Monday or Sunday. Add an optional title, such as Family Calendar or Team Schedule. Keep it short so the heading leaves room for the calendar itself.
Add a few useful events first
Enter an event name, choose its type, and select a date. Use a date range for a trip or school break. Use the yearly repeat option for birthdays and anniversaries when appropriate. Click Add event to put the entry into the calendar; typing into the form alone does not add it.
Short labels work better in small date cells. Try Alex birthday rather than a full invitation. Use the event list to check what you have added, and remove duplicates before exporting. Personal events stay in the current page session, so download your calendar before refreshing or closing the page.
Choose the right PDF layout
Use 12 months on one page for a compact year overview. Choose one month per page when individual dates need more space. If the year overview looks crowded, choose months on one page and events on the next page to separate the calendar grid from the event details.
Paper size and orientation apply to the compact layouts. The one-month-per-page layout uses landscape A4. Check the download controls before exporting so your chosen layout matches the paper you plan to use.
Download, inspect, then print
Select Download printable PDF, open the file, and check the year, event dates, and text size. The live website preview helps with editing; the downloaded PDF is the final print layout.
In your print dialog, select matching paper and orientation. Start with Actual size or 100% scale; if your printer clips an edge, try Fit to printable area. Print one test page before printing a full set. For a calendar on your phone, use the separate iCal export and import the file into your calendar app.
