Calendar details and exports

You do not need an account to use the calendar maker. While you edit, personal event details are held in the open page. If you accept browser saving, an additional copy is kept on your device as explained below. When you request a PDF or iCal export, your settings and events are sent to our server to generate the file. This can include event names, dates, colours, and reminder settings. Avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your calendar.

Temporary files

Generated files are temporarily written to the server in a randomly named directory. Anyone who has the download link can retrieve the file while it remains available, so treat the link as private. Once a download response is prepared, the server removes its temporary file. Undownloaded files are scheduled for deletion after about five minutes. Server interruptions can delay cleanup; closing your browser does not itself delete a server file.

The calendar feature does not save personal events in an account or event database. Keep your downloaded copy if you need it later. Technical logs have a separate lifecycle from generated files.

Cookies and browser storage

Browser saving is optional and off until you choose Accept & save. You can use the calendar maker and download files without accepting. If you accept, we save your added events, holiday locations and exclusions, year, layout, and design settings in your browser’s local storage under kalendarhub.calendar.v1. Unfinished event forms are not saved. This copy is available only in the same browser and website address, and anyone using that browser profile may be able to view it.

A small first-party cookie, kh_save, remembers your accept or decline choice for 90 days. It contains the choice and expiry time, not your event details. Calendar data is kept in local storage rather than cookies so it is not automatically sent with every page request. We read the calendar copy only after acceptance and while the choice remains valid. Both the saving permission and saved copy expire after 90 days from your choice; expired local data is removed on your next visit. Browsers may delete site data earlier.

To change your choice, open Cookie & saving preferences in the calendar maker. Choose Stop saving & delete saved copy (or Use without saving) to withdraw permission and remove the saved calendar. Your current open calendar remains available until you close or refresh it. You can also clear this website’s cookies and site data in your browser. This does not delete files you already downloaded or temporary server files.

Without acceptance, events stay only in the current tab and are lost when it is refreshed or closed. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting and security providers may use essential cookies or similar mechanisms to deliver and protect the service.

Server logs and infrastructure

Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, browser information, and error details. These records support operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. KalendarHub uses an Ubuntu server on AWS and Cloudflare for website delivery and protection. Their processing locations and retention practices depend on the services configured by the site operator.

Holiday lookups

Requesting public holidays sends the selected country, region, and year to the server. Depending on available data and configuration, the server may consult a holiday provider such as Nager.Date or Calendarific, or an AI service such as OpenAI or Google Gemini. These lookups use location and year information, not your personal event list. Holiday responses may be cached for later requests.

Analytics and advertising

This version of the website does not load advertising or analytics scripts. Optional calendar saving uses the local storage described above. Infrastructure providers may use mechanisms needed to deliver and protect the site. If analytics or advertising are introduced, this policy and any relevant privacy controls should be updated before those services are enabled.

Messages and privacy questions

If you contact us by email, your email provider and ours process the message, your address, and any information you choose to send. Please do not send private calendar details unless they are necessary to explain your request.
